Lorenzo to Ducati: Stoner, Do Not Use As Bait

BeritaON - Movistar Yamaha MotoGP rider at the same time defending world champion, Jorge Lorenzo claimed that Ducati Corse makes unnecessary Casey Stoner as inducement so that he would move to the Italian manufacturer next year. It is delivered in an interview with GPone Lorenzo.

Starting this season, Stoner returned to Ducati as a test rider and is tasked to develop the Desmosedici. Lorenzo, who was rumored to have frequent discussions with officials were convinced the manufacturer Ducati is no need to take advantage of Stoner as bait and only have to prove they are indeed a competitive bike.

"Ducati did not need to use Casey's handed a contract on me. They only have to prove their bikes fast indeed. After all the Ducati almost won last year in Qatar. Only this time they have not had enough experience for the rider who won the title," he said.

Lorenzo also admitted that he has yet to start serious talks about a new contract with Yamaha, but insisted he would soon do so before the first series was held in Qatar, March 17 to 20 next.

"Ideally, my signature contract with Yamaha before Qatar. It will also be the best solution to remove the load. Although the title of this year will still be difficult, but it better be done soon. But if not, I will be quiet and wait until Mugello or Brno, "he concluded.
